Buenos Aires, 1974. He began his career as a photographer for La Nación (Argentina).
He has worked for the Associated Press and France Press agencies. He currently works independently, mainly in long-term projects, such as a personal project on violence against women worldwide and a group project on people affected by multiple sclerosis throughout Europe.
He gives lectures and workshops, and is a member of the World Press Photo team of instructors.
He is currently traveling on a Royal Enfield motorcycle with the idea of going around the world while documenting the countries he is traveling trough.
Among his numerous recognitions are 3 World Press Photo, 2007, 2009 and 2010, Bayeux-Calvados Prize for War correspondents, 2009, NPPA-BOP “Photojournalist of the year” and Photo of the year 2009, 1st Prize Days Japan award 2009, and First Prize Sony World Photographic Awards, 2nd Prize Foto Press La Caixa, among others included. First prize in Multimedia the 68th POYi and Nomination for Emmy Award with Undesired.
