Itinerant Photography Festival

December 1-3, 2017. Montevideo, Uruguay.

ERRANTE is a nomadic festival whose first edition will take place in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Who is behind?

We are a group of independent photographers who seek to generate true equality in the field. We want to achieve this not only from discourse but also in practice.

What are our motivations?

We are concerned with the vast social differences so characteristic of our continent, where the power of representation has always been in the hands of the wealthy.

What us our aim?

Our objective is to empower local photographers by giving them the opportunity to generate relationships with globally relevant editors and curators. We aim to bring visibility to stories that have traditionally been underrepresented, and we appeal to an industry with a wide diversity in voices and narratives.

Portfolio Review

The ERRANTE Portfolio Review is the most important activity of Festival, since it is the moment where a large number of local photographers have the opportunity to share their work with worldwide recognized editors, curators and photographers. For us, it is essential that emerging photographers have access to this meeting, that is why the review is completely free. We have the support of National Geographic Society who will provide a prize of 10,000 USD to a winning portfolio that will emerge from the review. We encourage all photographers in the region to participate.
